Novel - Tang San goes alone after being the family is stopped by the Hao Tian sect's guard, Tang Xiao goes out to receive Tang Hao, Ah Yin and Xiao Wu after Tang San defeats all the elders and presets the Hao Tian sect's command seal, well he runs out after finding out that Ah Yin was outside in the cold
Donghua - Tang Xiao appears out of nowhere? How did he know they were coming? The main sect doesnt go out to the village at all. Pity they lessened the affection Tang Xiao has for Ah Yin

From what was shown in the episode, they had scouts ahead keeping a eye on the incoming roads to watch for oncoming attacks which is probably how Xiao knew they were coming.

I guess, but sect leader goes wandering out the village that acts as a front for the Haotian sect, when in the first time Tang San came no one cared lol

If they wanted to make changes then they should have shown more of the Haotian sect and Tang San's aunt instead of that clown and Qian Renxue lol

And surprise me studio, make XIao Wu take Tang San's place and beat up the elders :P

It'd be better if it was Tang San's mother especially if she took over Xiao Wu's temperament and got pissed about how they were treating her man :P

I'm actually curious about that because I'm guessing due to the royal bloodline of the blue silver grass, her abilities with it are much better than Tang Sans.

If it was going to happen, she would have lost since her level is far less than the elders, if her level is on par then she would have a better chance

It brings me so much joy knowing that TS is gonna whoop that 7th elder. He annoys to outta me. In fact, that wrinkled old ass elder does, too. Thanks for letting me know he gonna give em all a giant can of "taste my fist".

The novel had only a few paragraph about fight the first was was defeating the 7th elder, then Tang San challenges all of the elders
I just hope the studio makes the fight longer than just 5 seconds

Artworks and animation is okay, it's how the story is going and how it's portrayed is the biggest issue. I have the same reason as watching bing huo mo chu, grown ups and still acting like frickin 3 years old.

Yeah, I watched the first episode of Bing Huo Mo Chu, and just dropped it, the story is more important to me than the animation, if it was 3D powerpoint animation then of course I would consider it lol, animation is a bonus and the quality of the sound and voice acting comes after.

I watch a few scenes here and there, like me skipping chapters in a novel lol

Mhm... Jun you yun and zhu tian ji has become more interesting than duoro daro in storyline wise. Hell... Even budget donghua like against the sky supreme and tdg has more leveled storyline.

Welp..they ruined the essence of what made TS's return to Clear Sky one of the best scenes in the entire novel. All for the sake of QR judging drunken perverts? TS got screwed on these trials--bet he wishes he could trade😆. So much was altered and I again felt like I was watching on 2x speed. %$%^ing hell....

While I realize production didn't want to soil TS's respectful/honorable personality (one of the reasons he's a good MC), its emphasis here ruined a pivotal moment for TS's character/leadership growth. TS and TH (who wasn't even there) did NOT SPEND ANY PART of the convo begging the Elders to fulfill their promise or trying to prove their requirements had been met. Just the opposite. In fact his first words were: “Does the Clear Sky School still have any face to lose?” LOL. Like a boss, he continues with statements like:

“It’s not nonsense, it’s the truth. In the outside spirit master world, how many people still know of our Clear Sky School? If you mention the Clear Sky School, how would they evaluate it? Only as turtles pulling their heads inside their shell. Does the Clear Sky School still have any face?” 7th Elder even tries to slap him and gets rebuffed by the Trident. Then TS is slapped again by TX, but TS lets him and doesn't even feel it. 🤣

Through great suffering (awesome quote), he now has the F YOU power to throw the truth in their faces and distinguish himself as their obvious leader, not a genuflecting inferior.

Imo, this was one of the most important scenes in the whole novel. I just can't believe they tacked it on in the last 4-5 minutes and devoted nearly the first half to QR...

For someone who hasnt read the novel it was very easy to notice... One minute they're in the forest, then we get a little scene on QR then cut back to them miraculously turning up to where they meet up with Hao Tian Sect.

The problem is this was my favorite scene in the novel so my mindset and expectations were obviously way too high, especially considering current 'events'. Sigh..

What drove me up the wall more than anything was this kowtowing, quasi apologetic TS. Ugghhh. NO!

I'd strongly encourage everyone to read ch. 269 and 270 to get the real deal.

The build up to when Tang San brings out the Haotian command seal is kind of dampened now sigh

To those enjoying every sec of the donghua, well I’m honestly happy for you and I’m definitely not out here to judge anyone just because of our different opinions. Similarly I hope I don’t get judged. We are all just ranting, expressing our pent-up emotions (frustration) or sometimes heaping praises for bits that deserved credits. To each their own!

Back to today’s episode, to quote @douluo, “Soul Land has lost its soul”. Why? Because TS is no longer the badass TS who takes no prisoner. His infamous motto: “I’d rather be a broken jade than an intact tile” simply means he would not acquiesce to anyone nor change himself particularly to those who dares to talk trash about his loved ones (namely XW and his parents). **I wonder if anyone recall the episode where he first fought this bitchy 7th elder. TS ended up challenging him just for the fact that he derided Ah-Yin and calling TS a bastard child.

Now of all occasions, why would he act gentleman when they don’t even take him and his family as a thing? The Haotian Clan has always been a clan where one’s fist or rather hammer speaks the loudest. That was one of the many highlights in the novel where TS shows everyone who is the boss. In fact, this is one of the stages of TS’s character development where the author cleverly shows how TS’s persona, aura and temperament slowly change to that of the Sea God (and the Asura God). He’s simply more mature, regal and commanding. If my memory serves, Tai Tan’s son made that remark as well when TS returns to Tang Sect after 5 years.

Lastly, my biggest gripe is the rubbish scene of the vigilante angel “learning” how to forgive a scumbag. Seriously? That was her 8th trial? Even if this was just a small part of her 8th trial, this must be the biggest haxx of all! Do we need a god inheritance trial to learn how to deal with an utter scum or rather to know what is considered unforgivable? Not to mention, what a perfect mother-daughter combo — both of them go around as a punisher in the name of justice. Spirit Hall is really the incarnation of hypocrisy!

Well, if this is the purpose of the production studio to invoke emotions in their viewers, then they have definitely overachieved. But invoking loathe and resentment from the viewers might not get them far.

lol you are right they have every right to different opinions to us, they can label us "elitist" for all I care, but they are ignorant as to why, they think it is cause of the changes, how wrong they are, it isnt the changes, we support any good changes made, like Fanren and Perfect World but you can see how many people being vocal about the changes as opposed, even people who never read the novel knows the script being written is pretty bad comapred with those "let's accept this and enjoy it for what it is" and you can have a different opinion, but start throwing shade, I just block

Two important things, firstly we are aware that Shanghai is still under lockdown, but it isnt as severe as before, people are allowed to go to work as long as they get tested periodically and secondly if the studio has the time to work on a filler about Qian Renxue and that creep then the studio HAS the time to make the episode better than what is shown and CLEARLY it isnt affected by the lockdown, regardless of whether it is rushed or not, it isnt because of the lockdown, it is because they are in the hurry to finish this to start releasing Soul Land 2
The quality of the scriptwriting has deteriorated since the start of the Sea God trials, and it can be seen with the flow and pacing, rumoured to be due to the original scriptwriting team moving onto Soul Land 2, but it isnt confirmed, I hate to think it is the case but fact remains, the story is getting worse, events in the novel being swapped around, build up of certain events just gone to shred and less impactful

So let's accept it, besides it is free to watch, no, as a Tencent (Youtube now) subscriber I pay for my subs, so I have a right to complain :P

Only, in his heart, there wasn’t a bit of good opinion towards the sect. Looking at the mountain behind the mountain village, he thought that if everything went smoothly it was fine. If those sect elders dared be unfavorable to his father, they couldn’t blame him for not giving them face."

He couldnt give a rats bum to the sect, he cared for his parents and the sect he created, and his main priority is to Xiao Wu, Haotian sect? Pfffft, turtle hiding it's head inside the shell lol

7th Elder, snorts, petty tricks, attempts to block the trident, it is blocked as he smirks, then his expression changes as he is kicked in the nuts 18 times, and the trident with a weight of 10 million tonnes crushes on top of him, coincidentally on his nuts as well

So wait, whats wrong with the way he handled things at the end there? I thought it made perfect sense, and he's about to btch slap that elder next episode and squash everything. I think the main reason for handling it the way he did is because of his father. Main point being he wants to pay respect to his grandfather, which he can't do unless he plays ball. He wants to get his dad back in the gang, so he has to act the part and walk the walk. It seemed like he was being classic TS to me, I always thought TS acted with respect, I don't get were people say he is like some arrogant a hole. But from episode one he's been a respectful and calm person imo.

I agree nobody cares about the mother daughter combo, i don't even know why they waste time on them. The daughter is a spoiled btch, but the mother is just power crazy, which is fine in my book. The mother doesn't claim to be righteous, everyone knows what she is aiming for, to rule world basically, so at least she isn't some poser. Spirit hall is just another organization trying to gain and keep power.... considering the last leader was a dmn rapist, i don't think justice has anything to do with them. Like how religion was back in the day, they just want power and followers, plain and simple.

The daughter however, yea i agree, i can't stand her, she makes no sense at all, but the mother is basically just a crazy btch, who got dumped by the man she loved without a proper explanation, then gets whorred out to the old leader, gets violated, has a rape baby..... basically at that point, shes clinical and she doesn't give a fck, understandably! Thats why she killed the dude, and got power crazy, cause after some crap like that happened to her, she went down that road where she is going to be the most powerful person and the predator so that nothing like that happens again and she won't be anyones btch or victim... I do see where you’re coming from, TS has always been courteous but in this particular situation, he really does not need to go soft. During his first visit, he was apologetic but at the same time, he was also tough with insults towards his mum. The reason I said this is actually a very good example of his character development because

a.) He now understood better the whole situation with Spirit Hall and that the whole confrontation/attack towards his parents was just an excuse. He kinda had a rude awakening after SH attacked the Blue Tyrant Dragon & 7-tiles pagoda.

b.) That 7th Elder was a pain in the arse and deserves to have his arse handed to him. In Haotian Clan, strength means power and authority. Those stuck up elders would never submit to him or his request so easily because he wanted those spirit bones back to regrow limbs for his father. Of course, he also wanted to rally them to fight against SH.

c.) He was given the authority from his greatgramps to lead so why not use it?

d.) His character and charisma have undergone quite a significant change. The divine power from the SeaGod and the Asura God was slowly moulding him to be more like a sovereign ruler. **this is where I thought the author was rather perceptive to point out such change — though it’s a minor detail but a nice touch to the MC’s overall character development.

Btw, the old gramps was no saint. The reason he stayed away from the state affairs of SH is because he was defeated by Tang Chen and he promised to leave Haotian Clan alone until he has the power to defeat him or his descendants. That was why he painstakingly nurtured his granddaughter hoping that she will take the helm one day. He also didn’t intervene when his son raped and confined Bibidong. Of course, it would be too much for the donghua to elaborate on this, so understandably the viewers won’t feel same as the readers of the novel. And if I look at the main plots from the donghua alone, the story does flow, albeit not as smoothly as I was hoping for.

Wow, so SH is basically trash and they deserve what they get lol! Just another power hungry family!

On another note, what's weird is I think TS actually went to the past and started the tang clan , its like some freak loop. His past life clan just so happened to have the same fort setup with the chains an all, they are called the tang clan, which he started in this story....... I'm like did this guy go into the past and actually start the clan he is now running from(past life) ?
